Through the various interface tools, the human provides the computer with general guidelines. These include scale type, articulation style, density of notes, glissando probability, and counterpoint style.
The human also controls timbre, volume, tempo, key, chord progression, and most real-time sampling.
The computer handles all of the momentby-moment, note-bynote decisions. All of the individual notes are determined by the computer rather than the human performer.
The instrument is designed to complement the strengths of the computer and human components. The human provides big picture creativity and inspiration, while the computer fills in the details and performs the music with virtuosity beyond any human.
